Exciting Cormoran Strike casting news; Robin has been casted! Jo took to Twitter Wednesday afternoon to tell fans the news.

Tom Burke, who is an actor in War and Peace, has been cast as Cormoran Strike in JK Rowling’s crime novels. This will be adapted by BBC. Burke played Dolokhov in the Tolstoy period drama and is set to play as the damaged war veteran, Strike. This is a three-part event based on Rowling’s crime novels.

Rowling praised the 35-year-old actor as “massively talented.” The character is described in the first book as “sixteen stone of dishevelled male,”  swearing, bruised and unkempt after living out of a bag in his office. Rowling wrote that the character suggests that of a grizzly bear due to his height, hairiness, and extended belly. Rowling is also “thrilled about the casting of Tom Burke” and says he is the perfect actor to bring the character to life.

The dramas will start filming this autumn, and should be ready for broadcast by the end of next year. The casting announcement has been made by BBC One and J.K. Rowling’s production company Brontë Film & TV.

Exciting news! BBC has released new details on their upcoming TV adaption of the Cormoran Strike series, “‎The Cormoran Strike Mysteries“. Sarah Phelps (The Casual Vacancy) will adapt The Cuckoo’s Calling, while Ben Richards (The Tunnel, Fortitude) will adapt The Silkworm. With Julian Farino (Entourage, The Office) directing.

No word yet on who will adapt Robert/Rowling’s upcoming third novel, Career of Evil but seeing as it hits shelves next month (October 20th in the US & October 22nd in the UK) there’s still plenty of time. Continue to check back for the latest news on what is sure to be an incredible TV production!
