This Ain’t the Summer of Love

He had not managed to scrub off all her blood. A dark line like a parenthesis lay under the middle fingernail of his left hand. He set to digging it out, although he quite liked seeing it there: a memento of the previous day’s pleasures. After a minute’s fruitless scraping, he put the bloody nail in his mouth and sucked. The ferrous tang recalled the smell of the torrent that had splashed wildly on to the tiled floor, spattering the walls, drenching his jeans and turning the peach-coloured bath towels – fluffy, dry and neatly folded – into blood-soaked rags.

There’s an exciting mystery afoot for U.K. fans of Robert Galbraith (a.k.a. Jo Rowling)! Join The Crime Vault’s Scavenger Hunt and become an amateur detective with a chance to win a signed copy of the new book Career of Evil, out on October 20.

 


Phone that number in Britain and you will hear the first clue! You have until the 15th to enter your answers and get a chance to be on one of the official Scavenger Hunt teams. This contest is open to British citizens only and you must be able to attend the event. More Terms and Conditions:

  • You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Great Britain to enter.
  • Qualifying entrants must be available on the October 21 in London between the hours of 11:45 a.m. and 8 p.m. to be eligible to take advantage of the prize. You must also be able to arrange travel to London and the venue set out in Section 4 (travel expenses will not be provided).
  • The promotion will open on October 5 at midday London time and close on October 15 at 5 p.m. London time.

Exciting news! BBC has released new details on their upcoming TV adaption of the Cormoran Strike series, “‎The Cormoran Strike Mysteries“. Sarah Phelps (The Casual Vacancy) will adapt The Cuckoo’s Calling, while Ben Richards (The Tunnel, Fortitude) will adapt The Silkworm. With Julian Farino (Entourage, The Office) directing.

No word yet on who will adapt Robert/Rowling’s upcoming third novel, Career of Evil but seeing as it hits shelves next month (October 20th in the US & October 22nd in the UK) there’s still plenty of time. Continue to check back for the latest news on what is sure to be an incredible TV production!
